§ A.0 — On This Room

Everything before this point was philosophy informed by established science. This appendix is different in kind: it states the FRC relation, separates its canonical and operational forms, records one exact model calculation, and labels the conjectures that remain open.

The traffic is not one-way. The philosophy motivates the technical program; established physics constrains the philosophy; results from the FRC program can strengthen or weaken the book's chosen examples. None of that turns one finite model into a proof of the metaphysics. Read what follows as a status-labeled research program, not a completed physical theory.

§ A.1 — The Reciprocity Relation

The canonical FRC relation is displayed in its deliberate, scale-invariant form:

An FRC test must preregister the profile and show predictive gain over equal-access baselines. A spatial exponential by itself is not distinctive evidence. A nonzero coherence floor — not derived. The mathematical domain $C>0$ does not imply that a physical observable has a detectable nonzero equilibrium floor. A floor requires a declared source, noise model, resolution limit, and standard baseline. Without those, it is not yet a framework prediction. Born-rule deviations — open gate. The scientific route is conditional. A deterministic completion must declare its hidden state, dynamics, operational observables, no-signaling behavior, and a quantitative prediction that standard quantum theory does not share. That prediction must be registered before inspecting the decisive data. A failed test kills or bounds that completion; an anomaly requires replication and ordinary explanations to be excluded before it supports hidden determination. No result from one finite apparatus proves metaphysical determinism or “randomness all the way down.”

§ A.7 — What This Room Does and Does Not Carry

The canonical equation gives FRC a recognizable spine. The indexed form gives experiments discipline. Boundary residuals reveal where a ledger is incomplete without being promoted into laws or fields. Exact model results remain exact at their stated scope. PDEs and collapse mechanisms remain effective ansätze or conjectures until their gates are passed.

Success in this room would support a physical extension of the book's process outlook; failure would remove that extension and weaken any philosophical passage that leaned too heavily on it. Neither outcome settles the metaphysical ground by itself. The argument answers to reasons and established science; the technical program answers to declared observables, baselines, code, and data. Keeping those courts distinct without building a wall between them is the empirical wager.
